Teens in grades 6th-12th play an active role in providing an exciting lock-in event for 3rd-5th grade Girl Scout Juniors! Activity Booths led by the Teen Girl Scouts is a key part of the fun of Junior Blast!
Our theme this year is "Enchanted Forest Campout". Think "campout" in a mystical forest full of enchanted woodland creatures, fairies, elves, dragons, mushrooms and more! Teens should brainstorm with their troop to decide what they would like to do in their booth. This can be a craft or game. Two activities will be allowed per booth (so teens could do both a game and craft!). Teen troops will provide the supplies and staffing for their own booths for the event AND they still get to participate in all activities, food & swimming! Teens earn Leadership Service Hours for all time spent preparing for, training and working at the event. These hours may be applied towards Program Aide or Service to Girl Scout Bar Awards.
If registering without a troop, girls can also choose to help another troop with their booth, volunteer in the café, pool, photo booth and SWAPs areas or if 8th grade and up, they can assist in the Dark Room. These assignments will be given first to Individually registered girls and then first come, first served to troops who have been to Junior Blast previously. ALL TROOPS indicating an interest in these alternative activities must also submit a Booth Activity. Teen troops will receive confirmation of their activity booths by December 4, 2023.
